Robert E. “Bob” Wandell, 86, formerly of Muncy, died Monday, March 16, 2020 at his home in Lock Haven. Born January 23, 1934 in Muncy Valley, he was a son of the late Clara A. Fenstermacher (Wandell). He and his wife, the former Kathryn A. Sterner, celebrated 65 years of marriage on February 26, 2020. Bob was a graduate of Sonestown High School, Class of 1951. Following his graduation he served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, and later owned and operated K&W Transmission Service for 33 years, retiring in 1991. Bob enjoyed woodworking and was an avid golfer who won six senior team championships at White Deer and achieved seven holes-in-one throughout his golfing career. He was also a member of Muncy Lodge #299 F. & A. M. and the American Legion Post 601, Sonestown. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Robert E. (Heather) Wandell II of Frederick, MD, and Randy K. (Jeanette) Wandell of Lock Haven; two sisters, Sally (Dennis) Bender of Muncy Valley, and Suzanne (Vernon) Temple of Muncy; five grandchildren, Morgan C. (Zach) Ryan, Bradley R. Wandell, Peter A. (Skyla) Wandell, Bryce M. Wandell, and Faith N. Wandell; a step-granddaughter, Jennifer L. (Anthony) Greer; and one great-grandchild, Oliver J. Wandell. In addition to his mother, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Frances Wandell; his step-father, Howard Fenstermacher; and a step-grandson, Wesley L. Keen Jr. Funeral services will be held privately at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Paster Jason Borowicz officiating. Burial will follow in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Nordmont.
