Nancy Jean Glassmyre Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Nancy Jean Glassmyre, 72, formerly of Eagles Mere, died Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Bradford County Manor, Troy, after a long struggle with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Born February 6, 1945 in Monroeton, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Lillian (Camp) McIntire. Nancy was a graduate of Wyalusing High School, Class of 1964. She was employed at the former Endicott Johnson shoe factory, Mildred, and various other companies in Sullivan County until finding her calling in nursing. She was then employed at the former Laporte United Methodist Home and retired from private home health care. Nancy was a spiritual person who loved caring for those in need. She also loved music, playing the fiddle, dancing, and animals, especially horses. Surviving are two sons, Robert (Tresa) Glassmyre, and Scott Glassmyre, both of Eagles Mere; a sister, Betty (Richard) Harris of Stevensville; two brothers, Francis (Blanche) McIntire of FL and Joe McIntire of GA; a granddaughter, Molly Russell of TN; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas McIntire. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, June 9, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 119 Carpenter Street, Dushore, with Pastor Ron Dyer officiating. Burial will be held privately in New Albany Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
