Marjorie J. Danley

August 27, 1944 - October 29, 2018

Marjorie J. Danley, 74, of Muncy, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 at the GateHouse, surrounded by her family and friends. Born August 27, 1944 in Canton, she was a daughter of the late Ronald M. and Marion A. (Harris) Webster. She married Arthur M. Danley, and together they would have celebrated 55 years of marriage on November 9th. Marjorie was a graduate of Muncy High School, Class of 1962. She was employed at Young Industries as an Assistant Purchasing Agent, until her retirement in 2000. After her retirement, she worked for 11 years as a school bus aide for Gary Brelsford. Marjorie was the Co-founder and secretary treasurer of the Pennsylvania Ridgerunners Travel Club for 45 years. They traveled extensively throughout the United States and have been in every state, but Oregon, across Canada, Mexico, and all of the Caribbean Islands, and the Panama Canal, until her health issues made traveling impossible. Marjorie enjoyed the thousands of friends she met during her traveling years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, cross stitching, crocheting, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was also very generous, making numerous afghans to give away to friends, and gifts for bus tour members for her longer trips. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Stephanie A. Denis of Reading; a son, Charles A. Danley of Peyton, CO; a sister, Mary K. (Charles) Yarison of Pelzer, SC; two grandchildren, Jennifer M. Denis of Hamburg, and James A. Denis of Pottsville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Friday November 2, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water Street, Hughesville, with Rev. Ronald Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville. Friends may call from 10 to 12 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. John Lutheran Church, 68 Gordner Church Rd., Unityville, PA 17774, or Susquehanna Health Home Care and Hospice, at www.susquehannahealth.org/giving-back Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.mccartythomas.com.
