Lois A. Hembury, 95, formerly of Mildred, died Monday, February 17, 2020 at The Highlands Care Center, Laporte. Born August 10, 1924 in Mildred, she was a daughter of the late Henry S. and Anna M. (Radka) Hembury. Lois was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church where she was active with the youth choir and taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of the former Gleaners Society and the Alter Guild. Lois was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed flower arranging, sewing, and above all, spending time with her family. Surviving are a sister, Marie Wheeler of Dushore; eight nieces and nephews, Cynthia (Wayne) Casto of Laporte, Beth (Wayne) Williams of Nicholson, Lois (Randall) Ruhl of Muncy Valley, April (Jeff) Rine of Bellefonte, Dorothea (Todd) Paige of Howard, Nathaniel (Tina) Wheeler of Dushore, Jonathan (Janet) Wheeler of Dushore, and William Funk of Doylestown; 21 great-nieces and nephews; and eight great-great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Raub; two nieces, Amy Funk and Nathana Wheeler; and two brothers-in-law, Nathan Wheeler and Wilbur Raub. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 21, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 116 Carpenter Street, Dushore, with Rev. Phyllis A. Pelletier officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Dushore. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions to Community VBS, c/o Pastor Bill Hargenrader, 6575 Rt. 87, Forksville, PA 18616.
