Jay H. O'Dell, 63, of Hughesville, died Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at his home. Born March 15, 1956 in Chester, PA, he was a son of the late Paul Emerson O’Dell and Doris P. (Laurenson) Hollenbach. Jay served his country honorably in the U.S. Army and was a member of 40 et 8 Highland Lake. He was a very free spirited individual who loved his dogs, gardening, drag racing, playing pool, softball and motorcycles. Surviving are a daughter, Marsha A. O'Dell of Eagles Mere; two sons, Bryan J. (Manda) O'Dell of Montoursville and Travis R. Statts of Coral Springs FL.; three sisters, Pat (Dewey) Chestnut of Unityville, Paula Ryder of Montgomery, and Teresa (Rob Dugan) Hollenbach of Hughesville; a brother, Jeff O'Dell of Muncy; and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Pastor Harold Heddings officiating. Burial will be held in Webster Cemetery, Huntersville, at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions to the Lycoming County SPCA at www.lycomingspca.org/donate.
