Jackie L. Woodside, 85, of Hughesville, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 8, 1932, in Penn Township, Lycoming County, a daughter of the late Arthur and Emma (Clark) Shaner. Jackie loved watching her grandsons wrestling matches when they were in school. She always enjoyed going to the Angus Inn and serving coffee and talking with the patrons and the gas workers. She also enjoyed attending her great grandson’s baseball games, but most of all, she loved being with her family and friends. Jackie was employed at several local supermarkets and retired from Giant Market in Williamsport. She is survived by four daughters, Carol Woodside of Hughesville, Jane (Doug) Welsh of Guys Mills, Bonnie Gordner, and Diane Mead both of Unityville; a son, Donald Woodside of Hughesville and fiancé Jammie of Benton; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna Miller of Hughesville; and a brother, Gerald (Glenna) Shaner of Hughesville. In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by three sisters, Eleanor Fry, Zelda Barto, and Sylvia Fry; four brothers, Mike, Lyle, Grant, and Earl Shaner; a granddaughter, Randie Sue Gordner; a great-granddaughter, Teresa Watts; and a son-in-law, Earl Gordner Sr. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Rev. Max L. Walters Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Hughesville. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Jackie’s memory to the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery Association, c/o Reba Fry, 149 Frymire Hollow Rd., Hughesville, PA 17737.
