Floyd Augusta “Pap” Brown, 87, was reunited with his beloved wife in heaven on Sunday, August 19, 2018, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Floyd was born to the late Floyd and Blanche (Temple) Brown in Muncy, PA on July 13, 1931. He graduated from Hughesville High School. Floyd married the former Miriam G. Miller on May 3, 1952, and together they celebrated 66 years of marriage. Floyd attended Moreland Baptist Church in Muncy for many years, and later was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Hughesville (The Beacon). Floyd worked as a farmer all of his life. He started his working career at Interstate Amiesite as a teenager. Upon graduation from high school he sold his new car and bought his first farm and worked at sawmills in the wintertime. After he married he worked at Sprout Waldron in Muncy. When he moved his family to Hughesville he worked at ModeCraft in Hughesville and then had a 20-plus-year career with Penn DOT whereupon retiring he was recognized for not taking a single sick day. He would often come home from his job as a Penn DOT foreman and head off to work on the farm. Floyd and Miriam lovingly raised their 3 children. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, John Deere tractors, Dale Earnhardt-Nascar racing, playing Pinochle with friends, cooking and baking delicious meals including homemade ice cream, gardening, getting together with friends and family, and his faithful dog, Susie. Floyd was a 60 plus-year-member of Muncy Lodge #299 F. & A. M. and The Scottish Rite Valley of Williamsport A.A.S.R. Floyd is survived by his children Michele (Fred) Perry of Hughesville, Robert (Lisa) Brown of Muncy, and Marcia Reigle of Hughesville; his grandchildren Jillian (Joseph) Haines of Picture Rocks, Travis (Lindsey) Perry of Hughesville, Michael Perry of Bloomsburg, Christopher (Dianna) Brown of Muncy, and Jenna (Michael) Sellers of Muncy; and great-grandchildren Carter Haines, Colton Haines, Bailey Perry, Jackson Perry, Alessandra Perry, Kelsey Brown, Cassidy Brown, Molly Brown, Parker Brown, Regan Sellers, and Kennedy Sellers. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Miriam, and his brothers and sisters; Paul Temple, Dean Brown, Della Lyons, and Lucille Campbell. A celebration of Floyd’s life will be held at noon on Friday, August 24, 2018, at The Beacon: A United Methodist Church, 111 S. Second St., Hughesville, with Rev. Ann Runnels and Rev. Robert Ingraham co-officiating. A Masonic funeral service will precede the celebration of Floyd’s life by members of the Muncy Lodge #299 F. & A. M. He will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until noon on Friday at the church.
