Dale H. Phillips

Dale H. Phillips, 82, of Unityville, died Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville. Born July 28, 1936 in Muncy Valley, he was a son of the late Paul L. and Viola S. (Flick) Phillips. He and his wife, the former Mary E. Bowersox, would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 5, 2019. Dale was a mason and contractor for over 30 years, and a former member of Local 19 Brick Layers Union. He enjoyed the outdoors; fishing, camping, and traveling, especially his trips to Canada. Dale also enjoyed collecting clocks and tractors, watching NASCAR, and playing his guitar and banjo. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four daughters, Mary (Michael) Emmons of Brownsburg, IN, Sue (Scott) Moon of Danville, Holly (Barry) Heister of Reinholds, and Jean (James) Englert of Montoursville; two sons, Alan Phillips, and Perry Phillips, both of Unityville; five sisters, Erla Jean Hacker of Sonestown, Jane Armstrong of Muncy Valley, Beverly Worthington of Muncy, Connie Peterman of Muncy Valley, and Donna Howell of Bloomsburg; a brother, Nelson Phillips of Hughesville; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by three brothers, Gerald Phillips, Richard Phillips, and Mervin Phillips; and a sister, Mabel Temple. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 29, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water Street, Hughesville, with Rev. Max L. Walters Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 28, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water Street, Hughesville.
