Carl G. Weaver

Carl G. Weaver, 80, of Hughesville, died Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport. Born October 18, 1938 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late John D. and Helen J. (Guisewhite) Weaver. His wife of 19 years, Mary M. (Aul) Weaver, preceded him in death on April 13, 2008. Carl served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and served an additional 18 years in the Army National Guard. He attended Friends Church, Hughesville, and was a member of the Montoursville Lions Club. In his free time, Carl enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are a daughter, Chrissie G. (Lee) Perry of Linden; a step-daughter, Nancy (James) Edkin of Picture Rocks; a step-son, Michael (Elizabeth) Longstreth of Hughesville; two sisters, Shirley (Ronald Sr.) Guthrie, and Martha Flick; four brothers, Larry Weaver, Franklin Weaver, Jerry Weaver Sr. and Richard Weaver; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Carl was preceded in death by a brother, Jesse Weaver, and a sister, Irene Weaver. A graveside funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, August 9, at Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy, with Rev. Dan Cale officiating. Graveside military honors will be accorded by combined veterans organizations. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Hughesville.
